Getting Dressed for Mama!

Hey, there! Most days i’m in athletic attire and sneakers running around with my toddler! Since becoming a mom, “athleisure” wear has kind of become a staple in my wardrobe; kind of like my uniform. You can’t very well wear a nice cocktail dress to the playground, now can you?!

But lately, I’m sensing a changing of the tides and as much as I run after my little one, I’m realizing that the more effort I put into me, the better I feel about my overall appearance. I’m not talking ground-breaking stuff either: I’m talking about lipstick, or earrings, or just putting on my favorite necklace. I’m also trying to get back into my closet! Lots of my clothes don’t fit, but i choose to focus on what does. What fits is limited, but thats ok, it keeps getting better with time!

Lately, I’ve been working to either donate, give away or sell clothes that no longer fit me. I felt chagrin, initially, until I realized that I just needed to keep things that fit me today and the other items needed to find other homes!

Also, I realized the power and ease of throwing on a dress. There’s actually fewer decisions because you don’t have to coordinate a shirt and pants. And, you refine your look by the sheer nature of a dress looking so put-together, feminine and sophisticated.

Last tip, add a headband! They’re in style now and available everywhere. It will instantly elevate your style. Headbands are a fashionable and accessible way to boost your everyday look.

love and light!
